RECAP - 10/17/01
Episode #502 - "The Lost Weekend"

Dawson- Has spent the weekend with Joey at Worthington. Its his last day and he calls his home phone to check his messages. Joey realizes he is trying to listen to the message from her, much to her chagrin, she tries to persuade him not to. He does anyway and now is confused how they could have had such a great weekend and she doesnt want to have anything to do with him. Joey has to go drop a class, so Dawson gets the campus tour from Audrey, who he thinks is a cool girl.

Joey- Joey goes to see her writing professor to drop her class. She is still upset about getting a C on her kiss story. He signs her paper to drop and she waits in a huge line. Hours later she reaches the drop desk and is told her Professor signed a fake name. She storms in to ask him why. He explains to her she is too good at writing and he didnt want to lose her in his class. (My assumption: This Professor stares at Joey while she is writing something for him. He seems a little more interested in her than just student/teacher.)

Jack & Jen- Jack is still bugging Jen about not having any sex life. He says to her that for her being a slut she hasnt had sex since hes known her. They are walking the streets of Boston and find they are lost. Coincidentally, they end up outside of a radio station and Charlie is working there as a DJ. He calls for Jen to come inside and she goes on the radio with him. They have a cute little debate. (My Prediction: Jens appearance on the air with Charlie got listeners interested and they offer her a job working with Charlie.) Jen goes back to Charlies dorm room and makes the first move. They end up having sex. Afterward, Jen is embarrassed by what shed done and tries to make a quick getaway. Charlie says to please not leave because then hell have to start all over again next Friday and not meet a girl helikes as much as he likes Jen. How Cute! :)

Pacey- Pacey actually had more than a 1 minute stint this week. We met Melanie, the Deans niece that was traveling with Pacey on the yacht. She has been seeing Pacey throughout the summer. Doug comes to visit Pacey and tells him he has a friend that owns a restaurant and hell give Pace a job there. Pacey wants no part of working there UNTIL . . . He and Melanie go out to eat and she picks up the check. He is offended and she says she doesnt mind paying for her slacker boyfriend. He then goes back to the restaurant and gets a job as a prep cook. He meets one of the waitstaff, played by Lourdes Benedicto. He says he doesnt like girls who smoke as she is outside having a cigarette. She gives him her cigs and says not to give her one when she asks. Barf! I dont like her already!

Dawson and Joey - At the end of the show, Dawson is at the airport ready to leave without saying goodbye to Joey. Audrey tells Joey he left and Joey rushes to the airport. She talks to Dawson about their relationship and Dawson says to her that they can either go their separate ways and meet up again in 4 years being unconnected or he can stay with her. He Stays! Another Gag Moment!

Episode #503 - "Capeside Revisited"

Joey:
Joey is out to dinner with Jen and Audrey. While on her way to the bathroom, she spots Pacey in the kitchen. She is shocked and talks to Jen about it. Jen tells her hes been in town for 3 weeks. Joey asks why she didnt tell her and Jen explains that Pacey didnt want her to.
When Joey and Audrey are back in their room the next day, Audrey asks whats up with this Pacey guy. Audrey convinces Joey to go and see him, because she is pretty and doesnt know it and she is smart and doesnt know it.She explains to Joey that she probably doesnt like relationships because they are messy and unpredictable.
Joey goes to see Pacey. They start making small talk about their relationship and Pacey says, Oh Yeah, we dated once, didnt we? They still have fantastic chemistry and she comes on board his boat and they continue talking.

Jen:
While at dinner with Joey and Audrey, Jen receives a call from Charlie. Its a booty call and she rushes right over. The next day, Jen realizes she doesnt even know where Charlie is from, so they decide to try to go 12 hours without any sex. After hours of trying to find something in common, they start to have sex, but have no condoms. Charlie takes Jen to break into the student center to steal FREE condoms. They do it on the student center floor.

Dawson:
Dawson goes back to Capeside to inform his parents he is leaving his college in California and moving to Boston. Mitch is very mad and disappointed in Dawson. He thinks he is just chasing a girl and it will ruin all the dreams he has had for filmmaking. Mitch tells him hes not choosing his own path hes just following Joey down hers. (So True!) He sticks to his guns though and moves in with Jen, Jack and Grams.

Jack:
Jack is having a blast with his new buddies. They ask him to join his fraternity. Jack says he doesnt know and tells them hes gay. They all laugh and say they already knew that and that was one of the reasons they wanted him, so they looked diversified. Jack is excited and joins!

Pacey:
Pacey is at work and pissed that hes just slicing potatoes instead of cooking. Karen keeps coming in with an attitude and Pacey wants to know why. Later, Paceys boss throws out the 40 lbs of potatoes he has spent forever slicing and Pacey freaks. It seems that his boss was just giving him slicing practice before letting him actually cook. He also tells Pacey that Karens problem is because she wanted that job and he didnt feel she had enough patience for it.

At the End of the Show:
Dawson is waiting for Joey when she gets home. He tells her it didnt go well and they decide to go for coffee. Then we see Mitch driving in his car eating an ice cream cone. The top of the cone falls off and Mitch proceeds to chase it around the car while driving; NOT a good idea! He finally looks back up and it appears a car is headed right for him.

Episode #504 - "The Long Good Bye"

This episode was very touching and sad. I have marked a (TJ) for real tearjerker moments. It doesnt take much to make me tear up, so this episode was a very WET moment for me!

The opening to the show is a slow montage of clips and very soft music.
Dawson is home in Capeside after the death of Mitch. He is busy taking care of Lilly and his Mom. Gail cannot stop crying, so Dawson is left to make the funeral arrangements. He has a flashback of his 12th Birthday when Mitch gave him his first video camera.

Joey goes to Paceys boat to tell him the terrible news. He goes to Capeside with her. Back in Capeside, Joey has a flashback of her and Mitch. Bessie and Grams are helping with the food for the service. We actually see Bessie in this episode, BUT she has no speaking part.

At the reception after the funeral: Grams was talking to Dawson and he asked what her religious advice would be. She answered, The Lord and I arent on speaking terms this week. (TJ)
Jen offers Dawson her condolences by stating that she doesnt know what to say, so shes just going to hug him for a long time and tells him she loves him and would do anything for him. (TJ)
Joey goes to talk to Gail and tells her she has never seen love like she and Mitch had. (TJ)
Dawson is on the porch when Pacey walks out. Dawson thanks him for coming. Pacey says, Im really really sorry, and hugs him. (TJ)
Back inside the telephone rings and the answering machine picks up. It has Mitchs voice on it. Dawson freaks out and rips the phone from the wall.

Dawson is on the docks when Joey goes to see him. She says to him, Ill make you a deal. You take care of Lilly and Gail and Ill take care of you. He tells her that the last thing Mitch said to him was that he was disappointed in him. LATER: Dawson is on his bed and Joey comes in. She starts talking to him and he tells her to stop and to leave.

Downstairs: Joey and Pacey are talking and he asks why in the world would Dawson leave film school. Joey gives him a knowing look, and Pacey tells her that she and Dawson deserve their shot because they never really had it.
Dawson tells Gail he is staying in Capeside for a while where he belongs.

The Next Day: Pacey goes over to Dawsons House. He has a Mitch flashback. He goes and wakes up Dawson and asks him if he wants to go for a ride. They go and Pacey drives to the scene of the accident. Dawson asks why they are here. Pacey explains how exactly the accident happened; that the other driver involved fell asleep at the wheel. He tells Dawson that it was not his fault. Pacey says, Im telling you all this because Once upon a time we were best friends and that means that Im here for you, anytime, anywhere, anyplace, forever! (TJ!!!!!!!)

Joey goes back to school and tells Audrey that Dawson wants nothing to do with her. She cries.

Gail goes to the refrigerator and says to Dawson that they are out of milk. She breaks down as Dawson goes to get milk. When Dawson is at the store, the clerk tells him his father was in the night he died. He tells Dawson that his father said wonderful things about him and lists a few of them. Dawson goes to his car and finally breaks down and cries.

The song Fire and Rain plays at the end of the show and we see Dawson continuing to cry and everyone else getting on with their lives. Jen, Joey, Jack and Audrey meet Pacey for dinner at his restaurant. And Dawson continues to cry, then drives away!

Episode #506 - "High Anxiety"

Audrey and Joey are jogging when they run into Professor Wilder. He tells Joey about a project he is doing with a few students and asks her to join. She agrees. He invites her to a party to meet the students on the team. She tells him her friend (Dawson) is coming and she probably wont make it.

Dawson is coming to visit Joey and she is trying to figure out what they can do that is not stress producing for him. They are watching a movie, when there is a car crash scene. She quickly turns it off and apologizes. He says lets go to the party.

While Joey is socializing at the party, Dawson goes into the bathroom and starts freaking out. He runs out and tells Joey they need to leave right now. He informs Joey that he also freaked out the other day in the grocery store and doesnt know why. (Anxiety Attacks)

Pacey and Jen are walking the streets of Boston when they spot Charlie in a restaurant holding hands with a girl. Pacey tells her to ignore it, but Jen cannot resist and she barges into the restaurant and pours ice cream and coffee all over Charlie. He then introduces her to his SISTER. Pacey is over in the corner laughing at her! Later, she brings a basket to Charlies room to apologize when she catches him with a girl; KISSING!

Pacey is at work flirting with Karen, whom he has a crush. His boss asks if he can borrow his boat to take his wife to. Pacey says fine. The next day his bosss wife comes in and she is sick. Pacey asks her if she had fun last night and she says she was home in bed. His boss comes in later and returns the key to Pacey and tells him his wife had a great time on the boat! (LIAR!)

Jack is in the middle of hell-week with his fraternity when Tobey shows up unexpectedly. Jacks first priority is to his frat brothers and it causes a lot of problems. Tobey ends up leaving and Jack never even showed up to say good-bye. Later, Jen confronts jack and he tells her its not his fault they are all growing apart. She said he didnt know he felt that way about Tobey, but Jack says about her. She is stunned!

End of Show: Dawson leaves Joeys room to go home, but leaves behind the book about the loss of a parent that she gave to him. She is upset and Audrey suggests they skip their jog and go out for coffee instead. Joey seems surprised that Audrey is turning out to be a supportive friend.

Episode #507 - "Break Up/Break Down"

Dawson goes to see his doctor in Capeside to see what these attacks hes been having are. His doctor recommends him to a therapist in Boston. He goes to Boston, but doesnt go in for his appointment. Instead he goes over to Grams house and runs into Jack and ends up going to a frat party instead of calling Joey like he promised.

Jen and Jack are still not on speaking terms. Jen decides to take Paceys advice about getting even, not mad, at her cheating boyfriend. She and Nora (Charlies other girlfriend) set Charlie up by confronting him and then offering him a threesome. They manage to get him naked and lock him out of the dorm in the hallway in front of a lot of people. (Good Job!)

Pacey figures out that hid boss, Danny, is having an affair with Karen. He flirts with Karen anyway. Pacey throws a cheering-up party for Dawson, but Dawson shows up with Jack very drunk. Dawson runs into Joey at the party and says, Oh I forgot to call you. He tells her he can fix that and gets out his cell phone, dials her number and leaves her a message. His message is that he got a drunk message from her so this was his turn and if he hadnt hed probably be back at USC and his dad would still be alive. Joey is shocked that he said that.

End of Show: Pacey wakes Dawson up with a hangover cure. Dawson goes to find Joey and to apologize for what he said. She brings him to the train station and they talkabout how they just dont know what will happen next in their lives. Joey kisses Dawson.

Episode #508 - "Text, Lies and Videotape"

Dawson is back in Boston. He is waiting for his therapy appointment with Jen. They talk about therapy and Jen tells him the good things about it. When Dawson goes into his appointment he is surprised to find young, blond therapist. (Quite a sexpot)
Back home: Dawson and Gale meet with their attorney and it seems Mitch forgot to add Lilly into his will. Dawson is very upset by this.

Audrey is planning on trying out for MTVs The Real World. While she is preparing for that, Joey is getting ready for another meeting with Professor Wilders group. Wilder seems to be trying to help Joey and give her an upper hand with her peers on this team. (Seems to me hes hinting to a student/teacher relationship!)

Pacey is learning to cook. Danny (his boss) is teaching him so he can cook for a big party the following night. Pacey confronts Karen about her affair with Danny. She yells at him to mind his own business and says hes too immature to understand. Later, she shows up at his boat to apologize to him. She tries to explain her relationship with Danny to Pacey. She tells him he reminds her of Danny and Pacey says, I remind you of a guy who cheats on his wife? (Good Comeback!) He invites her inside, but she declines.

While watching Audreys Real World video, Joey realizes something about the Wilder Project. She impresses her teacher and the other students by figuring it out. Wilder compliments her on this accomplishment.

The party at Paceys work is interesting. Karen plans to spend the whole night with Danny, but his wife shows up. Pacey fills in as her last minute date. After the party Pacey shows up at Karens to cheer her up, but it is cut short by a phone call from Danny apologizing for the mix up at the party. Pacey leaves disgusted.

Dawson is on his way back to Capeside when Jen plays a requested song to him on the radio. They both have sweet flashbacks. When he gets home his mom gives him a letter that came. He won a film festival. Dawson tells his mom that he never entered it and she tells him his dad did. He tells his mom he is not going back to USC.

Episode #509 - "Hotel New Hampshire"

Dawson and Pacey are talking on Paceys boat at the beginning of the episode. They are sharing what has been going on in their lives recently. Its a nice scene that reminds me of their old days.

Jen is studying with Joey. Joey tells Jen that Jack invited her to his winter formal. Joey also tells Jen that she is glad that Jen is there for Dawson.

Jack and his frat boys are compiling a list of easy girls for their formal. Jack offers up Audreys name to be added to that list. Eric, a frat brother, is the one who wants to take her.

Pacey goes to Karens apartment and sweet talks her into going on a Non-date.

Jen is working at the radio station when Nora shows up to see her. Nora said she is having a hard time with the Charlie break-up ever since Charlie started sending her cheesy love letters. Jen tells her she hasnt received any letters and she is just fine with that. UNTIL Later, when Jen is crying to Dawson about why Charlie picked Nora over her. She says she wants the corny love letters and to not just be considered a floozy. She wants to just get away. So, conveniently, Dawson asks her to go with him to the film festival in New Hampshire. They go.

Joey and Audrey are getting ready for the dance at the frat house. Jack and Eric pick them up. Jack tells Joey that Jen is away with Dawson. She is a little bit shocked. AT THE PARTY: Audrey is not having fun with her date. He tries to impress her with his weight lifting stories; she just rolls her eyes. INSIDE: Joey overhears Jack and Eric talking. Eric is complaining that all his normal pick up lines are not working and wants to know if she is really easy or just a tease. Jack says not to worry, shell put out. Joey is livid and has words with Jack. Joey and Audrey leave the party.

Dawson and Jen check into their room and see a large bed with a heart above it. They laugh. Everyone at the festival thinks they are a couple, so they play along. They honor Dawson at the festival. While they are introducing him and referring to his Dad sending in the film, Jen holds Dawsons hand. He goes up to make a speech and talks lovingly about his dad. At the end he also thanks his girlfriend, Jen. Its very cute.

Pacey and Karen go out to dinner. Pacey says to her, I have kept to public places so you didnt get the urge to jump me. They laugh. He then talks to her about how she deserves to be with someone who treats her how she wants to be treated. He walks her home and compliments her on not complaining or yelling all night long. He goes to kiss her check good night when she kisses him smack on the mouth. They start going at it and end up inside her apartment.

After Sex: Pacey says that he knows this is complicated, but she interrupts and says that nothing has changed. She then tells him that hes not worth what shes risking. Pacey accuses her of sleeping with him just to get back at Danny. Hes pissed and leaves.

Dawson and Jen are in their hotel room and Dawson is talking about his Dad and how Jen is always there for him. Dawson asks her why they broke up all those years ago and they talk about it. Dawson says You were never physically attracted to me. Jen answers, Is that what you think? And then she leans over and kisses him on the lips. He looks at her for a second and then grabs her and they start going at it. It was sweet how they showed this scene. Kind of reminded me of when Joey and Pacey first had sex. AND YES, They cut Dawsons line, Tell me what to do! I assume this was because everyone laughed at him from the previous weeks preview!! Hehe
IN THE MORNING: They wake up and Jen is touching Dawsons hair. They talk about the sex and Dawson says it was so much more then he ever expected. They cuddle in bed. Very cute I must admit!

Pacey goes into his work the next day and quits his job. Danny says that Karen already beat him to it. Danny tells Pacey that the job is still his if he wants it. Pacey goes and finds Karen. She is waiting for a cab. He sits with her and she tells himshe doesnt regret last night, but that it opened her eyes and she needs tomove on. YEAH SHE DOES! They hug and she leaves in the taxi. SEE YA KAREN!

The morning after the party Jack goes to apologize to Audrey. Joey walks in on them and he says he is sorry to her too. They talk about how they can incorporate their old friends and their news ones. They promise to try harder.

Dawson and Jen are packing to go home. Jen wants to talk about everything. She tells him she is scared and doesnt want to lose his friendship. He promises that that will never happen. They mutually decide to see where this relationship goes. Jen says she wished they didnt have to go home yet, so Dawson dumps out their suitcases and says they can stay for a few more days. They kiss.

-A Winter's Fright-

Joey, Pacey and Jack go to see a scary movie that turns out to be not so scary. They sit around at Grams house and tell each other their own real life scary stories.

Joey tells her story about Halloween night. Audrey is dressed as Stephen Kings "Carrie" and is trying to convince Joey to go to a party with her. Joey insists that she has to study. Audrey goes with her to the library and spots an older creepy man. The man is staring at Joey. After Audrey leaves the guy comes up to her and says he has to talk to her. Joey flips and runs away. The cute male librarian says the older guy is harmless and sends her downstairs for the book she is looking for. She is downstairs and there is no one around. All of a sudden the creepy guy pops up in front of her and she screams and runs. The cute librarian shows up to help her. He knocks the older guy out, then locks the door! Joey realizes that this cute guy is the one who has attacked other girls on campus. She crouching tigered his ass.

Jack tells the story of his initiation into the frat house. He and two other pledges have to clean out the basement. After feeling ill, Jack goes upstairs and hears a noise. He finds a guy tied up with tape over his mouth. Jack takes the tape off his mouth and asks who he is. He says he is a pledge named Tad and that this was a hazing prank. Jack is mad about that. Tad says that its no big deal, they just dont want him in the frat. Basically because hes gay. Jack goes out of the room and when he comes back Tad is gone. He goes to the basement to find his 2 friends and he sees a yearbook picture of the frat house from 1968 and Tad is in the picture!

Pacey tells his story about a drive with Karen. An oncoming car has its headlights out, so Pacey flashes his lights at them. Karen freaks and asks why he did that. He explains its a common courtesy to other drivers to let them know their lights are off. Karen tells him it could also be the story of an urban legend that people do that and if you flash your lights at them they turn around and run you off the road. The car does just that and follows and bumps into Paceys borrowed car. They pull of at a rest stop and go inside and when they look out the car that was following them is next to them in the parking lot. Pacey yells at everyone in the rest stop and gets thrown out. They get back on the road and the car is stopped in the middle of the road in front of them. Pacey plays a little chicken and the car runs off the road. Karen gets out and gets a bat and goes right up to the car. They open the door and there is no one inside!

Grams comes home near the end of the episode and tells the youngsters that they dont know what a scary story is. She tells them about a night that Jen was working at the radio station. Jen hears noises and goes outside, its near midnight. When she goes out the door shuts and she is stuck outside. She uses her student ID card to try to open the door, but it falls inside. Then she hears a voice whispering jennifer. She walks around the corner and sees someone and they are still whispering to her. She yells at them and asks who they are, but the person falls down and its a fake person. She runs towards the studio and shoves the door and it opens. She runs inside to the booth and talks into the mic for a second. Then she notices her college ID is on the table. Just then a body smashes through the window.

At the end of the episode Jack and Pacey are teasing Joey for being scared. Joey asks Pacey to walk her home and he pokes fun at her again. It was cute!

Dawson says that that is just not possible. They giggle! (Dawson and Jen are really cute together. I am not a Dawson fan usually, but this new pairing is making him seem to be more than just plain old virgin Dawson that is lovesick over Joey Potter. LOL I say KEEP Dawosn and Jen!!)

Episode #513 - "Something Wilder"

Its Dawsons first day at his new film school. Jen wants to send him off right, so she presents him with a bag of gifts for school. The last one being an ET Trapper Keeper. When Dawson arrives at school Oliver immediately bombards him. He wants Dawson to direct his new film. Dawson quickly declines. Later when Dawson gets home from school he is telling Jen about Olivers film. It sounds like he really wants to do it.

My Opinion: Dawson and Jen still have great chemistry! And I cannot get enough of Oliver! He is slightly weird, but in a cute and funny way. Plus hes not bad looking either.

Jens radio show has taken a bad turn. Her boss asks to see her and explains that she seems to have lost her edge. She realizes its because shes actually happy for once and doesnt have all the bitter woman comments to say to her callers.

Jack gets put on Academic Probation for failing some classes. His frat brothers are not too pleased about that. Jack goes to the restaurant that Pacey works at and proceeds to get
very drunk. His frat brothers are also there, but not with Jack. One of the frat guys tells Jack what a disappointment Jack has been and that Jack was supposed to clean up the house image and all hes done is made it worse. Then he says that talking to Jack is like talking to a chick and Jack hits him. Pacey rushes out to stop the fight as well as the other frat brothers. Later: Pacey talks to Jack about why he screwing up his life. Jack has no answers.

A boy from Joeys class, Elliot, is interested in her. He finally gets up the nerve to ask her out. She says no at first because she thinks he had sex with Audrey, but then after talking to him she finds out he did not have sex with Audrey. They decide to go to dinner and a movie.
Later: Professor Wilder informs Joey that the Rose Files project is over. He is taking the whole group of students out for dinner. She agrees to go, not realizing at the time that its the same night she has plans with Elliot. She tells Elliot that she is getting sick and cancels her date with him.
Even Later: The group is done with dinner and all the students leave, leaving Joey with Prof. Wilder. They walk and talk and end up sitting on a bench in the park. They end up kissing. Joey breaks away and freaks out and leaves. When she gets home there is a basket with soup and stuff in it from Elliot. She feels like a big jerk.

Oliver tags along with Jen and Dawson out for dinner. The two boys manage to talk only about the movie and completely ignore Jen. She gets pissed and gets her edge back for her radio show. Dawson decides to do Olivers movie.

Episode #514 - "Guerilla Filmmaking"

Dawson is directing Olivers film. Oliver and Audrey are the leads in the movie. Pacey is there doing the lights. Dawson thinks Oliver is a terrible actor. He tells him that and they try to think of a guy who could play this shallow role. Charlie! Jen goes to ask Charlie if hell do the movie. He says why would I do you this favor. Jen replys You get to make out with a hot girl. Charlie agrees.

Pacey is helping Audrey with her lines for the play. When it gets to the kissing scene, they start really going at it. They stop themselves saying that its just not right. They both agree . . . kinda!

Joey is in Professor Wilders class and is feeling very uncomfortable. She tries to talk to him after class, but it again becomes uncomfortable. She asks Audrey for advice. Audrey asks her when the last time she felt like this for a guy was? Joey smiles.
Later: Joey goes to Prof. Wilders house. They are making small talk and about to kiss when her phone vibrates. She tells him she has to go and she walks out the door. A second later she walks back in his house and kisses him. Then she leaves again feeling very satisfied with herself.

Audrey isnt having a great time with Charlie as her lead actor. She says she cannot concentrate with Pacey right next to her. She locks herself in the bathroom. Pacey tells Dawson that its his fault that she is being like this. Dawson laughs and tells Pacey what an idiot he is. Joey shows up and Dawson tells her and Pacey to go get Audrey out of the bathroom. Joey figures something happened with Audrey and Pacey. She gives them her blessing saying that she loves them both and just wants them to be happy. And that their pairing would be the smartest thing either one of them has done in a long time.

Funniest Moment: While on this little break Charlie has been looking at the script. As he is approaching Dawson and Oliver, Oliver says, Oh No, Its trying to Think! LOL

At The Frat House: Jack is hanging out with Eric. They are just playing video games when Eric asks Jack how he came out. Jack tells his story and Eric says he wishes he could be more like Jack. Eric is giving off the feeling that he is gay and just hasnt come out yet. Later: Eric tells the frat guys that Jack tried to kiss him. Jack is so pissed he decides (Finally!) that he doesnt need this house anymore. As he is leaving he says to Eric that he has some serious problems that he needs to work on. Eric looks almost embarrassed.

Dawson is looking stressed out. Joey walks up and asks him whats wrong. Dawson tells her about the bad ending. She tells him that he still needs to believe in happy endings and that maybe she is his sign. She leaves. Dawson fixes the ending, clues Audrey in and films it. Its perfect!

Pacey and Audrey are walking home together. She keeps telling him that he is just not her type. They start kissing and she still tries to tell him that hes not her type. They laugh and continue making out.

Joey is walking home by herself. She is smiling and happy. She throws a snowball at a street sign and the crowd goes wild (in her head). For the first time, Joey seems to have an air of confidence. Its a nice change from sulking Joey!

Recap 02/13/02
Episode #515 - "Downtown Crossing"

What's the drama: It appears that the ATM vestibules and the streets of Boston are not as safe as they once were. In a continuation of last week's episode, Joey walks home and puts a call in to Prof. Wilder ("call me David"duh, they've made out!) to tell him she's on her way over. With thoughts on a "booty call," Joey lets down her guard and is surprised by a street urchin (looking incredibly similar to Macaulay Culkin with a goatee) who attempts to "borrow" some money from her. Her very stern "No" doesn't work so he convinces her by flashing the gun in his belt. The situation quickly goes from borrowing to a mugging.

What's up with Joey: Our girl remains sassy and cool - even with a gun pointed in her face. Mugger scores a 20 and a cell phone (and a karate kick in the gut). That is until the two take a quick trip to the ATM and mugger scores Joey's savings of just over $500. The two share a strange connection beyond mugger and victim. Joey actually ends up giving him love advice -then he steals her coat for his woman scorned - and finally leaves her. During Joey's chilly walk home - she happens upon Mugger-guy, who smugly waves to his victim. Then he suddenly becomes a victim himself, as he is run down by a hit-and-run driver. Rather than grabbing her coat, cell phone and life savings and
hitting the high road, Joey sticks around and calls for an ambulance. She claims it's to see him in jail but we all know that she sees her father in this mugger. A heart-to-heart in the middle of the street and it becomes clear that mugger is also a drug dealer, whose wife kicked him to the curb the month before. A freakish fainting spell lands Joey in the hospital along with mugger guy. Turns out it's just a shock thing so she's released but she is distracted on the way out. She befriends a lost little girl named Sammy, who happens to be the daughter of the mugger. Joey gets to talking with Sammy's mom Grace. Turns out, Grace is the wife of Joey's mugger. And when Grace realizes what has happened she is outta there. Joey tells her that she was once that little girl and she doesn't realize what a scumbag her father is. It's no use - Grace is gone-which is just as well because as she departs, the doctor comes in to tell Joey that the patient is out of surgeryand asking for her!
How it all wraps up: Despite her long, excruciating night, Joey
agrees to see the scumbag mugger. He doesn't look good at all. The doctors say they are just waiting to see if he needs another surgery and don't have much hope. Joey tells mugger man she met his family and he tells her he is ready to explain why. Why he is the way he is and her father was the way he was. He confesses to Joey that he spent Sammy's daycare money on drugs and that is why he ended up mugging her. Joey is unimpressed. She ends up telling Mugger-guy more than he has to offer her. He asks her if his daughter will ever forgive him. And Joey tells him that even though her father let her down in countless ways, countless times-the time he took her to the park on her 10th birthday (even though he was selling drugs to the fellow park visitors) was the best day ever.
Pleased, and somehow set at ease, the mugger passes away. Joey happens upon Grace and Sammy on her way out. Joey, tired and emotionally drained actually tells Sammy that her father saved her life by pushing her out of the way and getting hit by the car himself. Sammy believes her father is a hero. Joey ends up slipping the $500 into Grace's pocket. She finally leaves the hospital a changed person.

Recap 02/20/02
Episode #516 - "In A Lonely Place"

What's the drama: It's just like the old daysDawson and Joey in
front of the TV watching a movie. Only now Dawson is actually doing
homework. Joey wonders aloud if they are doing the "babysitting
thing" in shifts now. Dawson tells her he's just a little concerned
about her post-mugging and she tells him she's OK. He still feels the
need to take Joey to a screening the following night which is good
because Jen will be taking Audrey to a concert with her. Audrey
thinks that her relationship with Pacey is cursed with bad karma
energy.

What's up with Dawson: He's actually enjoying his new life in Boston.
He likes his new school. We know he really likes his new gal. And his
new home ain't so bad either. Things almost seem to be going too good
for Dawson Leery.

What's up with Joey: She goes to Wilder's office, attempting to tell
him about her crazy evening and the reason she didn't end up coming
to his house. But he tells her he doesn't want to know. He is
intrigued but he's also thankful that she "saved his job" and maybe
his life by not coming over that night. He just declares their
blooming relationship over then and there. But while at the artsy
French flick with Dawson, Joey spies old Professor Wilder with
another young chippie.

What's up with Jen & Audrey: Backstage at the concert they share
witty banter about their present relationships and their possible
relationships with the band members. After the concert, it's back to
the radio station for some dead airand a semi-lame interview with
the band. Audrey makes a semi pass at one band member but ends up
getting love advice from him while Jen is tempted by anotherbut not
for long.

What's up with Pacey: Audrey believes that when she and Pacey had the sex in his car on Friday night (while her roommate and good buddy
Joey was getting mugged) they released some sort of freaky bad karma
energy. And subsequently, they don't belong together. Pacey,
heroically tells her that they don't need to have the sex. But Audrey
admits that she's not into that kind of platonic torture.

What's up with Jack: In order to make his pal Pacey feel better about
the whole Audrey dumpage, he takes him to a bar that doesn't card. It is howevera gay bar. But the beer is cheap and that's all Pacey
really cares about. So while Jack excuses himself to the rest room,
Pacey just happens to meet a food critic, who has given up on
Civilization. Not our civilized world, but Pacey's restaurant. We
digress. Pacey thinks he can get food critic guy to give the
restaurant another review but it's a light bulb moment when Jack
tells him he will most likely want something in return. Pacey
realizes what it must be like to be a hot girluntil food critic guy
gives Jack his card at the end of the night.

How does it all wrap up: Bored at the artsy French flick, Joey's eyes
are on Wilder and when he gets up to leave in the middle of the
movie, Joey follows him to the lobby. He lamely explains that
unrealized anticipation is much better than the actual act would have
been. And Joey decides that she likes the way he sees her, the best
of herright or wrong. And she'd like that to remain the same.
When Dawson emerges from the theater he puts two and two together and Joey fesses up to it all. Dawson thinks they need to make up a new
definition of Joey-like. When Audrey finally sees Pacey at the end of
the night, she thinks she may be less single than she originally
thought. And Jen decides that two people don't need to be passionate about the same things to make their relationship work-as long as they are passionate about each other.

Episode #517 - "Highway to Hell"

What's the drama: The lead singer of Charlie's band suddenly quits and he asks Joey to front them for a "paying gig." Joey is stoked. And even though she calls him "smarmy," she accepts. It's baby "L's" very first birthday and the rest of the gang heads to the Creek for the big event. But little do they know, there'll be big surprises at the end of each and every road trip.
What's up with Dawson: Dawson and Jen hit that really boring, comfortable stage of their relationship. Though for "comfortable," Jen seems really uncomfortable. Could this be trouble in paradise? To make matters worse, as soon as the couple reaches Capeside, it seems that Gale has found herself a new man friend. Naturally, it's super uncomfortable for the kid, no matter how kind "New Guy Nathan" may seem. Dawson is thrown.
What's up with Joey: As much as she may try not to, she can't help being attracted go good ol' Chuck. She's excited about the gig but as Audrey very cleverly pointed out, Joey doesn't do so well with things she doesn't do so well. Turns out she said "yes" to Charlie because she was curious. Nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, when the band takes the stage, it's really, really ugly. The boo's fly and the beer bottles are clearly next.
What's up with Pacey: Joey and Pacey are now officially on a last name basis as in Potter/Witter so it's clear that they're over each other ... just so the rest of us are clear too. When Pacey is forced to drive Charlie (who overslept) to the gig, his Y chromosome rears its ugly head and he attempts to boot the backseat freeloader, and then beat him up. Audrey manages to cool things off with the big guy by heating him up in a different way.
What's up with Jen: She quickly confides in Jack. She wants to end it with Dawson. Yes, Jen finally proves herself to be totally and completely dysfunctional. Things go from bad to worse after they get to the Leery household and Jen sees how Gale has moved on. She finally admits that she needs to move on as well.
What's up with Audrey: She attempts to put the kibosh on her and Pacey's sleazy makeout sessions. It's time for Pacey to get an apartment.
How does it all wrap up: Jack finally corners Jen and makes her explain her quick "breakup with Dawson" outburst. They split the party to "chat" but we all know that their discussion was about moving on. Just when things look bleak for Dawson, he opens Joey's gift to Lily; sketches of their lives' memories. He's moved. He's really moved. When he finally finds Jen they both decide they just needed each other at the time they got together but it's time they went their separate ways. As Joey attempts to win over the nasty crowd, she realizes she can't do it herselfand so does Charlie. He quickly changes things up with a rockin' duet, and their very own version of "I Hate Myself For Loving You." The crowd goes wildin a good way. Just when you think the night is finally wrapping up, the foursome (well threesome), decide to stay the night at the "no tell motel" across the street from the seedy bar. Joey kicks it poolside as Pacey and Audrey disappear into their own room, and Charlie attempts serious conversation. When Joey balks, Charlie points out the fact that she should make new friends, all her current ones are sleeping together. Joey finally decides to leave her lawn chair and bunk with Charlie. Just to sleep.
