Sure Murder by Numbers has an interesting twist on a murder mystery. And yes, Sandra Bullock might bring people in to see this movie. But I guarantee that when you walk away someone else will be on your mind. His name is Michael Pitt. Pitt stars as Justin Pendleton, one of the trouble guys who is planning this step by step murder. He manages to pull you in with his seductive voice as he grabs you with those beautiful eyes. Yes, I realize he plays the bad guy in this film, but once you see his performance you'll want to run out and see everything he's ever been in. I'll make that a little easier on you!
Michael Pitt hasn't been around all that long, probably because he just turned 21 years old, but his resume' is growing all the time. 1998 was just the beginning for Pitt when he was cast as Henry in Dawson's Creek after someone from "Dawson's Creek" saw him in the play The Trestle at Pope Lick Creek in New York. This led to a guest spot on the popular TV drama Law and Order. He then landed a few very small roles; in the movie 54 he played a dance student, he was an extra in the film Hi-Life and he played a student in the Blockbuster hit Finding Forrester.
Michael Pitt soon got his big break! While working on the teen series Dawson's Creek he started making more movies. No, they weren't huge hits, but he is getting the credit he deserves for these rolls. In Hedwig and the Angry Inch (2001), Pitt played a musician with a transsexual girlfriend. He showed how versatile he can be as an actor. Pitt also gave another great performance in Bully (2001). Law and Order also wanted Pitt back this year! He guest starred on the show in January 2002. So, is Murder by Numbers (2002) going to bring Michael Pitt to the front burners of critics minds? Oh, I sure think so!
