Just the News:
-> Beau Bridges has just signed on to be a regular on the
CBS series, The Agency.
-> Oscar winner William Hurt will make his sitcom debut on CBS' ''King of Queens'' as a psychiatrist who shrinks some Heffernan heads in the comedy's 100th episode May 20. ''We inquired about his availability and it turns out William was a big fan of the show,'' says executive producer Josh Goldsmith. ''It's hard to approach an Oscar winner to be in your sitcom, but sometimes it's a case of the pretty girl waiting to be asked.'' Jerry Stiller's son, Ben Stiller, will join the fun in the same episode; the Zoolander star will play Arthur's father in a family flashback. Goldsmith says the sky's the limit when it comes to luring future guest stars now.
-> Two CBS dramas that no one really cares about The District and The Agency are teaming up for three crossover episodes to air during May sweeps, USA Today reports.
-> CBS confirmed Tuesday that it is moving forward with plans for a Big Brother 3, and is now accepting applications at CBS.com. The third installment will air over the summer and will feature "new innovations." Like, maybe, no housemates?
-> Everybody Loves Raymond, and apparently, that includes Hollywood. On Sunday, April 29, CBS will air Everybody Loves Raymond: The First Six Years, an hour-long special that will "feature celebrity fans and not-so-famous faces talking about their families and how the series relates to their own lives." Celebs scheduled to appear: Ron Howard, Larry King, Norman Lear, Mary Tyler Moore, Bob Newhart, Martin Short, Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Voight.
-> CBS will present a "Mary Tyler Moore Show" reunion special next month -- with appearances by Moore and her co-stars on the 29-time Emmy-winning comedy -- Ed Asner, Valerie Harper, Betty White, Gavin MacLeod, Cloris Leachman and Georgia Engel. Daily Variety reports the special is part of a growing trend at the networks to capitalize on past glory -- following the unexpected success last November of a "Carol Burnett Show" reunion special, also on CBS.
-> Also in the works, an hour-long 50th anniversary celebration of "The Honeymooners" on CBS. It will air on May 6 (10-11 pm/ET). It will feature rare and never-before-seen clips from the classic comedy series.
