The WB News and Scoops

Just the News:

-> Jennifer Garner may be the master of superspy disguise, but you should have no problem ID'ing her in the May 8 episode of ''Felicity'': She'll revive her 1998-99 role as Hanna -- the nerdy ex-girlfriend of Noel (played by husband Scott Foley). ''Felicity'' cocreator J.J. Abrams, who cast Garner as the lead in his other series, ''Alias,'' thought a brief return would be a fun wrinkle in the show's final arc -- a quirky ''Sliding Doors''-esque plot in which viewers see Felicity (Keri Russell) during her senior year as if she'd chosen Noel instead of Ben (Scott Speedman).

-> There's a casting shake-up going on at 7th Heaven as two of the Camden kids prepare to leave the nest. Last month, we reported that series star Barry Watson was quitting the show, and now executive producer Brenda Hampton tells TV Guide Online that "Jessie Biel is also leaving." Hampton explains, "[Biel] is committed for three episodes [for next season] and she made that commitment when she came back last year, but I'm hoping that Jessie will do more." Ditto for Watson, who is set to make his last appearance in the season finale. "I'm begging him not to [leave].

-> An upcoming episode of the WB's 7th Heaven will pay tribute to a U.S. Marine killed in Afghanistan. In the May 6 installment, Ruthie (Mackenzie Rosman) learns that the Marine she was corresponding with, Staff Sgt. Dwight J. Morgan, has been killed. In real life, Morgan died in a Jan. 20 helicopter crash in Afghanistan.

-> Scott Foley from Felicity will be guest starring on NBC's Scrubs. He will appear in 2 episodes, April 16th and April 30th. He's a short-term love interest for Sarah Chalke.

Renewed for Next Season:

-> WB viewers can take comfort in yesterday's announcement that three other series -- sophomore "The Gilmore Girls" and freshmen "Smallville" and "Reba" -- have been picked up for another season.

New Show in the Works:

-> Former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jennie Garth is joining the cast of an untitled WB comedy set in Manhattan.

In Case You Haven't Heard - These Shows Have Been Axed!

-> Felicity will not only bid farewell to the University of New York this May, she'll also say buh-bye to prime-time TV. The WB has decided not to renew the four-year-old show for next year. ''One of the joys of the series was this coming-of-age story about Felicity Porter in college,'' says WB Entertainment president Jordan Levin. ''It's the end of her senior year. It felt like a natural place to close the story.''

Not to mention a financially prudent one. The WB is paying close to $1 million per episode for a show that averages a mere 3.3 million viewers (it used to be one of the net's top performers in young demographics). What's more, the show lost its stride when creator J.J. Abrams relinquished hands-on control of the series to create ''Alias'' for ABC. ''J.J.'s always been the voice of 'Felicity,''' Levin admits. ''There has been a ratings slip with the loss of his presence.''

"Felicity" will return to the WB's schedule on March 20 and will wrap May 22 with a two-hour season finale -- when Levin promises Felicity (Keri Russell) will resolve her relationship issues with Noel (Scott Foley) and Ben (Scott Speedman). Come to think of it, a mnage trois sure would make a jaw-dropping series capper.

Felicity - Countdown to Goodbye
Ben falls victim to a car accident while on his way to help Lauren pack for her move to Arizona.
As she waits for him to come out of surgery, Felicity learns that
Lauren faces drunk-driving charges.
Meanwhile, Noel's rocky relationship with Zoe continues without the complications of intimacy.
Richard asks Elena out for the sole purpose of impressing another woman.
Felicity's plagiarized and soon-to-be published paper still hangs
over her head.
FROM THE WB:
While Ben (Scott Speedman) spends time with Lauren (guest star Lisa Edelstein) and contemplates moving to Arizona to be closer to their baby, Felicity (Keri Russell) panics about getting caught cheating on a paper and considers turning herself in to her professor (guest star Jane Lynch, Best in Show).
